The Monte Capanne (mountain Capanne) is the highest mountain if the island Elba with a hight of 1019 meters above sea level. During our hike up to the top you will walk through beautiful forest, bushes, butterfly gardens and great view points. From the top you will have a amazing view over the whole island of Elba and over the other Toscane Archipelago islands and the big island Corsica.

Climb with us the Monte Capanne
To reach the top of the mountain by foot is a real outdoor activity. Together with our English speaking guide you will hike up to the top of the mountain. The journey will start from the little village of Poggio and ends in the old capital town Marciana. Both of the mountain villages are well worth a visit and you will see the real Elba life since there are not many tourists.
The hike will take about 9 hours in total. (depending on the level of fitness from the attendees) The 9 hours is included with transport to and from Lacona.

Private tour
Are you interested to book a private tour? That is also possible, the benefit from a private tour is that we can have more time to take pictures, get more inside information of the island and there will be no waiting for other attendees. You will get your own English speaking guide who will lead you safely to the top of the mountain.

Important information
suited for persons from 10 year and on, please notice a good level of fitness is required and being afraid of heights won't make it easier.
What to bring?
- Water! A minimum of 1.5 liters per person is required! Please follow this advice!
- Closed hiking or sports shoes with good grip!
- Waterproof sun protection cream with high ph factor
- A cap
- A big lunch package
- A little bit of money to buy a nice refreshment on the top and or in Marciana

Transport Lacona
If you would like to use the transport from Lacona we meet at the entrance of the Camping Lacona.
Own transport
When you come by own transport to Poggio that is possible. We meet at Bar La Dolce Vita in Poggio. When you choose to come by own transport you will receive a discount of €2,50 per person.
